About
We built the business first.
The courses came after.
Mark and Grace Sias own Noble Notary & Legal Document Preparers, a nationwide notary staffing and signing service. Seven years ago we were two people with a stamp, a printer and no budget.
How this started
We started the way almost everyone does — as mobile notaries, bootstrapped on a shoestring. No investor, no runway, no marketing budget. A commission, a laser printer, a car with too many miles on it, and a lot of appointments that barely covered gas.
The first real lesson was that the notary commission is a licence, not a business. Nobody tells you that. You pass whatever your state requires, you order a stamp, and then you sit there. The state has no interest in whether you ever earn a dollar with it.
The second lesson was that the money is not evenly distributed. A general notarization in most states is capped by statute at somewhere between $5 and $15. A loan signing at the same kitchen table, taking roughly the same two hours, pays $75 to $200. An apostille file pays more than that. A trust package pays more again. Same commission, same person, wildly different income — the only variable is what you know how to do.
So we learned the higher-paying work. We became loan signing agents. We added apostille and authentication services. We moved into legal document preparation. Within a few years we were running six figures as working notaries, still doing the appointments ourselves.
Then we started hiring
Demand outgrew two people. We built a signing service, and that is when the perspective changed completely — because now we were on the other side of the desk, assigning work to notaries all over the country.
You learn a great deal about training from that seat. We saw exactly which notaries got rehired and which ones quietly stopped getting calls. It was almost never about personality or effort. It was about four or five specific, teachable things: knowing the document stack cold, handling the borrower's questions without crossing into advice, getting scan-backs in on time, pricing so a full calendar is actually profitable, and following up with escrow officers like a professional instead of a stranger.
Today Noble Notary is a seven-figure signing service operating nationwide, and we still run it. That matters for one reason: the training on this site is written from current, working knowledge of what the industry is doing right now, not from what it was doing when somebody filmed a course five years ago and never touched it again.
Why the prices are what they are
Notary training is full of $997 and $1,997 programmes. We think that is backwards. A first course should not cost more than a new notary's first month of income — it should be the thing that makes that first month happen. So our catalogue runs from $4.97 to $497, everything is a one-time purchase with lifetime access, and nothing renews.
We can price this way because course sales are not how we pay the bills. The signing service is. That is a structural difference, and you will feel it in how little this site tries to upsell you.
What we are not
We are an educational training publisher. We are not a law firm and we do not provide legal advice. We do not commission notaries — only your state can do that — and no course we sell replaces a state-required education or exam requirement.
We also do not guarantee income. Every figure on this site, including everything the calculators produce, is an illustrative estimate. What you earn depends on your market, your pricing, your marketing and how much work you put in. Anyone in this industry promising you a number is selling you something.
Who we teach
- People who have not applied yet and want to know if the opportunity is real before they spend anything
- Newly commissioned notaries who have the stamp and no idea what happens next
- Working notaries stuck on $15 notarizations who want the $150 appointments
- Established signing agents adding apostilles, remote online notarization or document preparation
- Notaries who are busy but not profitable, which is more common than anyone admits
