Disclosure, up front

We publish notary courses. Signing Agent Basics competes with them. Read this review knowing that, verify anything that matters on their own website, and discount our opinion accordingly. We have not invented facts, and where we did not know a current price we say so rather than guess.

What it does well

  • Low barrier to entry — you can find out whether this work suits you without a large bet
  • Straightforward, unintimidating presentation of the fundamentals
  • Reasonable for someone testing the waters before committing to deeper training
  • Refreshingly free of the high-pressure income-claim marketing common in this space

The other side

What to consider before buying

Consideration 01

Foundations only

"Basics" is an accurate description. It orients you; it does not make you the notary an escrow officer requests by name.

Consideration 02

Limited business coverage

Pricing strategy, escrow and title relationships, and local marketing get comparatively little attention, and those are what determine income.

Consideration 03

You will need a second course

Which means the real cost is this plus whatever you buy next. Worth factoring in before you treat the low price as the total investment.

The verdict

Perfectly reasonable as a cheap first look at the industry, and we would rather someone spend a small amount finding out than a large amount. Just plan for it being step one of two, and budget accordingly.

How it compares to what we publish

Our step one is the New Notary Course at $27, and our step two is the Jumpstart at $237 — so the full path from "considering it" to "working the signing table" is $264 total, known upfront, with no tier you discover later. Before either, the free assessment quiz and income calculator cost nothing at all.
